A very successful cocktail event yesterday evening after the exceptional concert given by soloists of the Bavarian State Orchestra in Montreal, under direction of Maestro Kent Nagano

The Bavarian soloists and Maestro Nagano

The soloists were smiling and relaxed after a remarkable performance yesterday night at the Maison symphonique, Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s all-new concert hall, where they were offering a musical program dedicated to “Sprechstimme”. Their chamber ensemble first interpreted some 19th century Melodramas (Wagner, Liszt, Schumann), and then performed Arnold Schoenberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire” under direction of Maestro Nagano. The latter had previously explained the historical and musical context of the pieces, to the great interest and pleasure of the public. From left: Massimiliano Murrali (piano), Annegeer Stumphius (soprano), Peter Wöpke (cello), Kent Nagano (direction), Arben Spahiu (violin and viola), Katharina Kutnewsky (flute, bass flute and piccolo) and Jürgen Key (clarinet and bass clarinet). – Picture © State of Bavaria Quebec Office
