April 16, 2013 - The City of Markham (Ontario) maintains a twinning agreement with the City of Nördlingen, Bavaria, North of Augsburg, as this was the birthplace of Markham's founder, William Berczy. Markham is currently planning a delegation's trip to Nördlingen and Munich in the upcoming weeks, and to this end invited our colleague, Mr. Frédéric Arsenault (left), Project Manager Economy & Technology at the State of Bavaria Office in Montreal, to hold a presentation of Bavaria's political, economic, technological and cultural characteristics. The audience was of approx. 20 persons. Mr Arsenault is here in the company of Mr. Frank Scarpitti, Mayor of Markham (left), Mrs. Carolina Moretti, Councillor Ward 4 (second from left), and Mrs. Sabine Sparwasser, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Toronto (second from right).
