Visit of a group from the Bavarian Red Cross

April 26, 2013 - The President of the Bavarian Red Cross, Mrs. Christa von Thurn und Taxis, visited the offices of the Quebec Red Cross together with her colleagues. They could exchange about the differences and similarities between both their organizations. In Bavaria for instance, ambulance calls are answered by the Red Cross, which is also in charge of all blood donation services, while in Quebec blood donations and ambulances are of direct public responsibility. Nevertheless, these are the only major differences: For the rest Bavaria's and Quebec's Red Cross cover very much the same districts - health care and social care services, emergency response and international cooperation, First Aid & CPR. On picture, Mr. MIchel Léveillé, General Manager of the Red Cross in Quebec, shows the President of the Bavarian Red Cross the width and location of his organization's actions.
