Collaboration with the Hanns-Seidel Foundation

Benjamin Emans, Richard Teltschik

The State of Bavaria Office in Quebec and the Hanns-Seidel Foundation look back on several years of fruitful collaboration. The Hanns-Seidel Foundation is a political foundation created in 1966 and named after the former Minister-President (1957-1960) and chief of the CSU party, who also counts as one of the founding fathers of Bavaria's economical and industrial modernization. Its motto is "In the service of democracy, peace and development" and it fosters political education, research and science via scholarships, as well as international development and cooperation. Within the Bavaria-Quebec cooperation, the State of Bavaria Office in Montreal regularly welcomes groups of Bavarian members of parliament, who come to gather more information about the bilateral partnership, but also about Canadian political systems and most recent administrative orientations. Mr. Richard Teltschik (right), Director of the Hanns-Seidel Liaison Office in Washington, visited our office in late April 2015 to carry on the fruitful collaboration and prepare an upcoming visit.
