Bavaria-Quebec Cluster Meeting in Munich

Life sciences and biotechnology, as well as IC technologies are to be the first industry clusters targeted by Bavaria and Quebec on the occasion of the first Cluster Meeting scheduled in Munich, November 22 and 23. This meeting originated in June 2009 as a common idea of both heads of government – Jean Charest, PM of Quebec, and Horst Seehofer, Minister-President of Bavaria.

About 50 businessmen, experts and researchers from Quebec will travel to Munich to develop common technological collaborations, common research projects and materialize business opportunities.
The delegation will be conducted by Quebec's Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export, Mr. Clément Gignac. The event schedules 2 days of seminars, industry visits and one-on-one meetings to swap experiences and ideas on issues such as open innovation, personalized medicine and medical technologies, or even emerging tendencies in mobiliy or embedded systems.
The sectors targeted for this first Cluster Meeting are among the booming ones within both economies. Their resemblances and a very dynamic cooperation have them converging on many topics. For over 2 decades, Quebec and Bavaria have been cultivating extremely profitable and enriching business relations.
The event is co-organized by the Quebec Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export (MDEIE), Quebec's General Delegation in Munich, Bavaria's Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, and the respective cluster organizations in Québec (Montréal InVivo and TechnoMontréal) and Bavaria (BioM and BICCnet).
