Intensified cooperation between Bavaria and Quebec: Minister Herrmann meets Minister Dutil


From the 25th until the 28th of April 2011, the Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Mr. Joachim Herrmann, followed by a political delegation, is visiting Quebec and Montreal. The goal of the Bavarian Minister’s and the Chief of Police’s visit is to intensify the previous collaborations regarding the fight against crime. Thanks to the help of the Quebec Office of the State of Bavaria and the Ministry of International Relations of Quebec, a diversified and informative program was arranged for the members of the political delegation from Bavaria.

The highlight of the visit is the signing of a Declaration of Intent between the two regions. Through this Memorandum of Understanding, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and the Public Security Ministry of Quebec, represented by Minister Mr. Robert Dutil, both establish their intentions regarding the fight against crime and the crime prevention. Moreover, expert discussions regarding Immigration, Integration and the fight against Corruption will be conducted.

The Quebec Office of the State of Bavaria is inviting the delegation members to a dinner at the Club Mont Royal, where they will meet representatives of German and Bavarian firms. The Consul General of Germany, will also be of attendance. The events will end in a visit of the city of Montreal.
