Visit to Ottawa and Québec City of a delegation from the Praesidium of the Landtag of Bavaria, a Quebec partner state.


From September 30 to October 6, 2011, a Bavarian Landtag Praesidium delegation comprised of dignitaries from the Landtag parties will visit Montreal, Ottawa and Québec City, led by the the President of the Bavarian Landtag Barbara Stamm. In Ottawa, the delegation will visit the Canadian Parliament and meet parliamentarians, as well as Mr. Gerald Keddy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade. In Montreal and Québec City, the delegation will meet the President of the National Assembly Jacques Chagnon and Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities Kathleen Weil. The delegation’s members are seeking information about the Canadian and Quebec political situation in various areas, particularly immigration and integration. Several meetings with Quebec National Assembly Members are also on the agenda. The Landtag of Bavaria has maintained a partnership with Quebec’s National Assembly since 2003. Close cooperation between Bavaria and Quebec for some 22 years has spurred the launch of over 450 joint projects.
