City rankings: Munich stays on top

In September, two significant studies rated Munich as a city with excellent economic prospects.

In the E-REGI-Index, published annually by LaSalle Investment, Munich ranks third among the regions in Europe with the highest economic potential. The state capital of Bavaria is at eye level with main cities such as Moscow, London and Paris, which respectively rank first, second and fourth. The study investigated the economic growth, the prosperity level and the attractiveness of the economic environment of 326 European regions and cities.

Due to its outstanding economic potential Munich also did very well in a regional prognosis by IW Consult, commissioned by the business magazine "Wirtschaftswoche Global". Among 147 German job market regions, Munich and its surroundings constitute the most promising economic region. The Munich area performed well thanks to its good ratio of highly qualified jobs, its promising economic sectors as well as its positive demographic development which will continue in the future.
