Bavaria is Germany's favorite tourism region, and proof thereof are yet again the temporary tourism statistics for 2011 indicating a possible new record year for the Free State

Minister of Economics and Tourism, Mr. Martin Zeil, is enthusiastic about the current temporary tourism statistics, published by the regional Bureau of statistics regarding the 10 first months of 2011: « The 'golden fall' once again quickened the visits to Bavaria. The record year 2010 seems already within reach. I anticipate that the remaining weeks will held break this record. The prolonged sunny weather period, which lasted until late November, reinforced the demand for wellness and treking visits, not the least in the Alpine regions. »

25,894,015 arrivals and 71,162,732 overnight stays so far represent a boost of 5.4%, resp. 3.8% year-on-year.

« The tourism boom is a cyclical driving force for all regions within the Free State. Profiting from it are above all agricultural areas. Tourism guarantees jobs, income and future perspectives », Mr. Zeil stressed.
