01.03.2012

Montreal and Munich are among the best and most attractive cities in the world in which to be a student – this was the result of the "QS Best Student Cities in the World" ranking, published in February 2012 by the British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), who also issues an annual ranking of universities worldwide. Their evaluation of student-friendly cities was based on various characteristics such as the number of international students, the costs of living and the quality of life.

98 cities were considered in the comparative analysis. Montreal achieved 10th, Munich 13th place. The only other German city ahead of Munich and in the 50 first is Berlin, #8. Slightly higher living costs in Munich made for the difference between the two.
