Starbucks moves its German headquarters to Munich

There are twelve Starbucks coffee houses in Munich including one which has the highest turnover across Germany. The chain has now moved its German head office from the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Essen to the Bavarian state capital. In mid-May, Starbucks Corporation – founded in Seattle in 1971 – began managing their 153 German coffee houses from Munich.

The first Munich branch opened on Leopoldstraße in 2004. Since then, the chain has expanded rapidly. The company lists “the size of Munich, better possibilities for business partnerships and networking as well as expansion of the enterprise“ as prime reasons for the move.
