On January 5, 2013, the Nuremberg soccer stadion will hold Europe’s greatest outdoor hockey game

On January 5, during the Bundeliga’s winter break, the Nuremberg soccer stadion will host the duel between Nuremberg's Ice Tigers and Berlin's Eisbären – on the rink especially built for this occasion.

Ever since the beginning of the project, the ultimate goal was to attract a record of fans – 23 days before the event, 45,000 tickets out of the 50,000 available had already been sold. Only a few places remained in the two main terraces. On Januar 5th, 2013, Nuremberg’s soccer stadion will host the greatest outdoor hockey game of the European hockey leagues’ history!

This highlight for all professional hockey players in Germany was carefully prepared – by visiting not only Sweden and the Gävle “Outdoor Classics”, but also Canada, where Hamilton (Ontario) hosted the outdoor game of the professional league AHL.

The “DEL WinterGame” will not only be the German hockey league's very first outdoor hockey game, but also the biggest event ever in German hockey history. It will be broadcast live by Servus TV, available everywhere.
