New cooperation agreement signed between Bavarian State Chancellery and LOJIQ : strenghtening the exchanges of young professionals

Flags of Bavaria and Quebec

This Thursday, June 20th, 2013, a first formal cooperation agreement between the Bavarian State Chancellery and Les Offices Jeunesse Internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ) was signed in Munich by the General Manager of LOJIQ, Mr. Alfred Pilon, and the Deputy Vice Minister of the Chancellery of Bavaria, Dr. Jörg Vogel, in presence of Quebec Minister for International Relations, Francophonia and Foreign Exchange, Mr. Jean-François Lisée - currently on a mission in Germany -, and Bavaria Minister of Federal and European Affairs, Mrs. Emilia Müller.

By underlining the successful exchanges that took place in the recent years, this agreement also strengthens the basis on which to organize in the future by giving a priority to bilateral projects between Bavaria and Quebec within the international youth and internship grants programs.

Les Offices Jeunesse Internationaux du Québec, especially their department Québec-Monde, logistically and financially foster young professionals from 18 to 35 years in their international experiences, be it on a personal or professional basis. LOJIQ’s partners in each priority cooperation region (e.g. Bavaria) find internships that LOJIQ in turn offers to candidates chosen via their yearly application procedure.

LOJIQ already works closely with MedienCampus Bayern, the association of film, media and gaming education institutions in Bavaria. A young Quebec director, Joëlle Hébert, who had been offered a LOJIQ grant for an internship at Bavaria Film GmbH, one of MedienCampus Bayern’s partners, just recently won a prize striking her career start.

MedienCampus Bayern has been enabling young Bavarians to complete internships in Quebec for several years now, especially in the gaming field, of which Montreal is one of the world’s hubs, but also in the field of more traditional media.
