The Fünf Seen Festival rolls out the red carpet for Quebec cinema, August 1-3 2014 in Bavaria

In this 25th year of cooperation between Bavaria and Québec, the Ciné Tapis Rouge will screen films from Québec at the Five-Lakes-Filmfestival in Bavaria from the 1st to the 3rd of August.

Since 2007, Ciné Tapis Rouge has been supporting exchanges between the Quebec film sector and cinema producers from all over the world. In autumn 2013, films from Germany had been presented at the event “Tapis Rouge au cinéma bavarois”, among them the famous animated short film “ Ein Münchner im Himmel” ( A Municher In Paradise) which had been  dubbed live in Quebec French by the Festival’s spokesperson, actor Rémi-Pierre Paquin.

The Five-Lakes-Filmfestival attracts more than 13,000 spectators each year and will present about a hundred unscreened movies from the 23t of July to the 3rd of August in Herrsching, Seefeld, Wessling, at Wörthersee and in Starnberg.  Most will be films and documentaries coming from the region between Danube and Adria.  Since two years the festival honours partner countries, this year Quebec and Taiwan.

Ciné Tapis Rouge will present seven feature-length films as well as six shorts, among them “Roche-Papier-Ciseaux” by film director Yan Lanouette-Turgeon who will come to Bavaria with Mario Fortin, CEO of Beaubien Cinema, one of the most popular cinemas in Montréal, and CEO of the Arthouse Cinema Society Montréal.
