Following a long-term tradition, the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation , close to the Bavarian political party CSU, organized this year again a trip aimed at political exchanges in Canada for parliamentarians of the regional parliament in Munich (Landtag) and the federal parliament in Berlin (Bundestag).

Mr. Erwin Huber, former Bavarian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, and Dr Otmar Bernhard, former Bavarian minister for Environment and Health, as well as Dr Hans-Peter Uhl, spokesman of the CSU in the Bundestag in Berlin, met with the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Montreal, Mr. Walter Leuchs, and participated in a luncheon in the presence of members of the DANRBA and representatives of German companies of the Greater Montreal Area.

Several high level political meetings were planned in Montreal, among others with Mrs. Christine St-Pierre, Quebec Minister for International Relations and La Francophonie, as well as in Ottawa. The discussion topics touched mostly the current CETA (Canadian European Trade Agreement) negotiations.
