On 15 April 2016, as their only stop on Canadian soil, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) will play at Montreal's Maison symphonique under the direction of  Chief Conductor Maestro Mariss Jansons.

Acknowledged to be one of the world's finest orchestras, the BRSO was founded in 1949. Among the numerous conductors who worked in Munich, one of the most outstanding is probably Leonard Bernstein. Mariss Jansons holds the position of Chief Conductor since 2003.

In Montreal, the BRSO will play Shostakovich's Seventh Symphony ("Leningrad") in C major, op. 60, as well as Erich Wolfgang Korngold's violin concerto in D-major, op. 35. Soloist will be Leonidas Kavakos.

The State of Bavaria Quebec Office is proud to support the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as they play in Montreal's Maison symphonique.
