MUNICH. The Bavarian Culture Ministry offers a Bavarian novelist, comic author or literary translator a creation grant for a 2-month stay in the city of Gatineau, Québec's 4th biggest city. This grant is the Bavarian counterpart in the new crossed literature residency program between Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus Schwandorf-Fronberg and Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec. The Bavarian participant will live in Maison Scott in Gatineau.

„This grant reinforces the cultural dialogue between novelists, comic authors and translators from Bavarian and Québec, and is a further step in the strengthening of the Bavaria-Quebec cooperation existing since 1989. Künstlerhaus Schwandorf, with its strong international orientation, is an ideal partner for this exchange program," Dr. Ludwig Spaenle, Bavaria's Culture Minister, explains.

All further information and relevant details to Bavarian participants are available here (in German). The deadline for candidates is May 2, 2016. The Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec will make the final choice of participant.
