Jeunes Ambassadeurs lyriques support program: Bavarian Evening and Gala concert for aspiring singers from Quebec and Canada

It's an annual tradition for supporters of the young generation of opera singers in Quebec: the "Jeunes Ambassadeurs lyriques" grant program that was created by Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20, and its annual concert series for the Montreal audience to measure the savoir-faire of local talents in a diverse repertoire.

Each year anew for the last 10 years, the Bavarian Song Evening has been the occasion for an exploration of the German-speaking repertoire, through Lieder and opera arias alike. The State of Bavaria Office Quebec proudly supports this program: in April 2016, the Regensburg opera director, Mr. Jens Neundorff von Enzberg, took part in the pre-selection auditions, and this week, the opera director at Nuremberg Theater, Mr. Thomas Hermann, sits in the International Selection Committee. Moreover, a young soprano from Würzburg, Ms. Kathrin Filip, will sing in Montreal: she is one of the Yehudi-Menuhin-Foundation's rising stars. In 2015, tenor Julian Freibott had been offered this opportunity.

The Bavarian Evening will take place on Friday, November 18, 2016, starting at 7 pm, at the Petit Opéra concert hall (2205 avenue Laurier Est, free parking). A Bavarian snack will be served at 6:30 pm. Entrance is free of charge.

The Gala concert, which traditionally closes the week, is set on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Pierre-Mercure hall in the Pierre-Péladeau center (UQAM). Tickets can be purchased here: http://www.quartierdesspectacles.com/fr/activite/11632/23e-gala-des-jeunes-ambassadeurs-lyriques
