The President of the Bavarian Landtag, Mrs Barbara Stamm, visits Québec city for the 10th session of the Bavaria-Quebec Joint Parliamentary Commission



From October 3-8, 2017, on the occasion of the 10th session of the Bavaria-Quebec Joint Parliamentary Commission, the President of the Bavarian Landtag, Mrs. Barbara Stamm, visits her counterpart in Québec city, Mr. Jacques Chagnon, President of the Quebec National Assembly. Mrs Stamm is accompanied by the Vice-Presidents of the Landtag - Mr. Reinhold Bocklet, Mrs Inge Aures, Mr. Peter Meyer, Mrs Ulrike Gote – as well as by members of the Landtag Bureau (Praesidium) – Prof. Dr. Peter Paul Gantzer, Mr. Hans Herold, Mrs Angelika Schorer, Mrs Sylvia Stierstorfer.

The Bavarian delegation will be welcomed in the National Assembly of Quebec where they will be officially introduced during Question period on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. During their stay, the Landtag members will have the opportunity to meet and exchange views with Quebec MNAs, especially with the members of the Délégation de l’Assemblée nationale pour les Relations avec la Bavière (DANRBA), on issues of common interest. Integration and multiculturalism in an immigration-welcoming society, current political and parliamentary topics, impacts of the digital era on politics and public action, as well as the challenges faced by far-away regions. A visit through Kamouraska and Charlevoix regions will illustrate the latter.

The Bavaria-Quebec Joint Parliamentary Commission was instituted in 2002. Since its first session in 2004, its members have been meeting every two years, alternatively in Munich and Quebec.
