From November 23 to December 23, 2017, the very special magic of a German Christmas Market will take hold of the beautiful old center of Québec city. The State of Bavaria Quebec Office is proud to be a partner this year again.

In 10 years, the event has made it to one of the most anticipated highlights and tourist magnet of the holiday season in Quebec, expecting more than 100,000 visitors this year.

With one week-end more than usual, the German Christmas Market 2017 welcomes neighboring regions to offer a taste of Old Europe – featuring specialties from Brussels, Switzerland and Alsace. As a special guest, a Bavarian Alp horn trio – the Kaltentaler Alphornbläser – will take hold of the Market on the first week end! More at  www.noelallemandquebec.com

Christmas markets are closely connected to the German-speaking regions of Europe. During Advent, local artisans gather on the central village square, often around the church, to expose and sell their production. Most of the items will be Christmas decoration and wooden toys, but there's always several other specialties to make for great gift ideas. Of course, food and beverages are also available, especially the well-known "Glühwein", world-famous "Lebkuchen" and other Christmas pastries. All of these will be present in Quebec.
