As part of the unique bilateral cooperation which has been binding Bavaria and Quebec since 1989, one of the strongest Bavarian delegations ever to come to Canada visited Montreal, Bromont and Québec City from May 14-18, 2018. Participants were representing the branches of aerospace, AR/VR/AI and video games.

On the agenda were several meetings, be it workshops and conferences, visits of local facilities, B2B lunches, or networking cocktails. After spending two days in Montreal and Bromont, the group traveled to Québec City, to join the Regional Leaders Summit (RLS). Sidelining the political program was a specific business and technology oriented agenda with various meetings for the members of the delegation and their Quebec-based partners.

The group was accompanied by the Bavarian State Minister for the Digital Agenda, Media and Europe, Mr. Georg Eisenreich, who was representing Bavarian Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder at the RLS. Together with Quebec Premier Couillard, Mr. Eisenreich agreed on strengthening the existing cooperation ties between Bavaria and Quebec in the digital technologies branch.

The programs were prepared by the State of Bavaria Québec Office, in close cooperation with the Québec Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Innovation, the Québec Ministry of International Relations and Francophonie, as well as key partners like the Fonds de recherche du Québec, CRIAQ, CNRC, McGill University, or Québec International – just to name a few.
