Minister-president Dr. Markus Söder introduces his new cabinet of ministers

On November 12, 2018, Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder presented the members of his new cabinet as approved by the Landtag:

  • Director of the State Chancellery and responsible for Federal and European Affairs and the Media: Dr. Florian Herrmann (CSU)
  • Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy: Hubert Aiwanger (Freie Wähler)
    Vice Minister: Roland Weigert (Freie Wähler)
  • Minister of Interior Affairs, Sport and Integration: Joachim Herrmann (CSU)
    Vice Minister: Gerhard Eck (CSU)
  • Minister of Housing, Construction and Transport : Dr. Hans Reichhart
  • Minister of Justice : Georg Eisenreich (CSU)
  • Minsiter of Education : Prof. Dr. Michael Piazolo (Freie Wähler)
    Vice Minister: Anna Stolz (Freie Wähler)
  • Minister of Science and the Arts : Bernd Sibler (CSU)
  • Minister of Finance and Heritage : Albert Füracker (CSU)
  • Minister of the Environment and Consumer Protection : Thorsten Glauber (Freie Wähler)
  • Minister of Food, Agriculture and Forests : Michaela Kaniber (CSU)
  • Minister of Family Affairs, Employment and Social Affairs : Kerstin Schreyer (CSU)
    Vice Minister: Carolina Trautner (CSU)
  • Minister of Health and Long Term Care : Melanie Huml (CSU)
  • Minister of the Digital Agenda : Judith Gerlach (CSU)

The first vice-minister-president is Mr. Aiwanger (Freie Wähler) (also Minister of Economic Affairs), the second vice-minister-president is Mr. Joachim Herrmann (CSU) (also Minister of Interior Affairs).

Previously, on November 5, Ms. Ilse Aigner had been elected to the chair of the Landtag, by an absolute majority of 198 voices out of 205.
