During the autumn of 2010, the International House of Artists in Munich, the “Villa Waldberta”, welcomed two writers from Quebec: Denis Thériault and Eric Dupont. The villa is located next to the lake Starnberg, at Feldafing. This 3 months stay is part of the cooperation between Bavaria and Quebec, and offered the two writers the possibility to work on their respective projects. They also presented their work at a public reading organised by the Quebec General Delegation in Munich and the Quebec Office in Berlin, at the Seidlvilla in Munich, on November 10th, 2011.

Novellist and teacher, fluent in German, Éric Dupont wrote three novels published at Marchand de Feuilles editor: "Bestiaire", "La Logeuse", and "Voleurs de sucre". He took his stay in Munich as an opportunity to work on his current novel project.

The German edition of Denis Theriault’s novel "L’iguane” ("Das Lächeln des Leguans") was published in November 2011 at the prestigious Munich editor DTV. It is Thériault’s second novel published in German: in 2009, “Le facteur émotif” ("Siebzehn Silben Ewigkeit"), was also published at DTV.

The two writers really appreciated their stay and had a positive experience residing in Munich, as well as at the Villa Waldberta. They are grateful for this opportunity to enjoy a few months of the well-known Bavarian hospitality. They would definitely recommend this special experience to their fellow colleagues and writers from Quebec.
