What do Munich and Montreal have in common? A love of beer… and St Patrick’s Day Parade!

The first time was 1996, where the expected 300 visitors actually materialized into 3000 and forced the closing of the street.

Since then, Munich’s St Patrick’s parade has been the most attended and popular one on continental Europe. In 2011, it attracted 20,000 people, several coming from other Bavarian and German cities, or even from foreign countries. In 2012, the Irish ambassador paid the parade a visit and a pint of Guinness, accompanied by a Minister of State of Ireland.
