The gap between the South and the North of Germany is widening. This is one of the central messages of the newly released "Atlas 2013 of future opportunities", published by Prognos AG in early November. Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Ilse Aigner: “The 2013 atlas of future chances confirms that Bavaria holds an excellent position regarding economic strength and dynamics. (…) Bavaria trusts the first 4 places nationwide with the district and the city of Munich, as well as the cities of Erlangen and Ingolstadt, and 9 Bavarian districts made it among the top 15 of Germany. Half of the 50 most dynamic districts and cities are located in the State of Bavaria.”

The study confirms good future opportunities to all parts of Bavaria. The Bavarian policy for sustainable rural areas and the pursuit of equal living conditions pays off.

Mrs. Aigner: „These results encourage me as Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs to approach the structural changes and the demographic challenges at an early stage and proactively, and to provide the best possible local conditions in the whole Land. This way we manage to ensure the industrial base in Bavaria, to be leading in all future technologies, to keep our small and medium-sized companies efficient and powerful, to give impulses for start-ups, and to create jobs for everyone in the region.”
