Bavarian companies at BENEFIQ trade fair in Québec City, Oct. 4-6 2016


The third edition of BÉNÉFIQ, the international rendez-vous on Health Ingredients in Canada, will take place in Québec City from 4-6 October 2016. BÉNÉFIQ is an international meeting for research and business people, aiming at generating innovation leads for markets with a great socio-economic impact.

In Bavaria, the BioM cluster ( oversees the biotechnologies industry in helping companies network on the international level. The greater Munich area is Germany’s leading region in biotechnology and offers a close connexion between R&D, innovation start-ups, business and education: around 250 biotech businesses, of which 118 SMEs ; 2 elite universities (LMU and TU München) ; the Helmholtz center for environmental research ; the university Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, world-renowned brewing education institution; and 2 biotech specialized start-up incubators. On government level, the “KErn" center of competence was set up by the Bavarian Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests to focus and spread food knowledge in Bavaria.
